New Delhi, May 24 (PTI) Torrent Group will establish a 300 MW wind power project in Karnataka. The company has awarded the contract for the commissioning of the project to Suzlon. The company said this in a statement on Wednesday.
Torrent Power won the project from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) through a competitive tender. A power purchase agreement (PPA) for this project was signed on March 23.
Suzlon was entrusted with developing the project recently awarded by SECI, the company said in a statement. The project to be established in Karnataka is expected to go live by 2025.
Torrent Power currently has a total installed capacity of 4,100 MW. This includes a renewable energy capacity of 1,070 MW and gas-based projects of 2,700 MW.
In addition, the company's 400 MW capacity renewable energy projects are in various stages of construction.
