The shadow of the Erdtree will expand Elden Ring story towards new horizons that players have not witnessed before. By doing so, fans will likely have a better understanding of the game world and all the lore surrounding it. Between powerful families and harsh betrayals, there's a lot going on here.

Who does Torrent initially serve?
At the beginning of Elden Ring, players meet the adorable and unique horse, Torrent. With the help of the Spectral Seed, players can summon Torrent and traverse the Middle Lands as he wishes.
However, we never really find out who he initially served before Ranni tells us her story. The shadow of the Erdtree It would be a great way to find out.
Learning more about the Grim-Eyed Queen
Famous for their environmental storytelling, FromSoftware games often don't directly tell players about the characters and their origins. Over time, we learn about them through different items and side quests in the game.
One such mystery surrounds the Gloam-Eyed Queen, who plays an important role in the game's story. There is enigmatic information about Melina really being her, and Elden Ring The expansion has the potential to explore this arc.
Ranni and the black knife killers
One of the few betrayals in the game's history surrounds the story of Ranni and the Black Knife Assassins. Initially, these assassins helped Ranni confront Godwyn the Golden, but things took a turn and instead worked against him. What exactly led to this betrayal?

It's ironic how little we know about Melina, despite her being one of the main characters in the game. There's a lot of her in her story, given the little bits of narrative we find about her throughout the game. One of which focuses on the part of her about her origin, perfecting the purpose Queen Marika gave her.
