A quarter of Aussie crypto users plan to buy crypto Christmas gifts: Survey

More than a quarter of Australian cryptocurrency users surveyed in October plan to use digital assets as part of their Christmas gifts this Christmas season.

the poll by crypto wallet and service provider Crypto.com surveyed 2020 Australians aged 18-59. Of those who had used cryptocurrencies in the past 12 months, 26% responded that they would consider giving something for Christmas or buying crypto-related gifts.

More than half, or 53% of those planning to buy crypto gifts, said they would consider buying crypto assets, such as Bitcoin (BTC) or Ethereum (ETH) for your loved ones this Christmas.

The survey also found that crypto products, such as themed socks or hoodies, could be popular gifts this holiday season, with 43% of those planning to buy crypto-focused gifts said they were looking for these items.

About 42% said they were thinking of buying coin coupons, and 35% were considering buying crypto books. About a third of those surveyed said they were thinking of giving away non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Recent high school graduate Justin El-Sheikh, 18, from Melbourne, plans to give away crypto this year. He told Cointelegraph that he plans to set up his friends with a wallet and a small amount of Bitcoin to get started.

โ€œA lot of my friends hear about cryptocurrencies and say they want to get involved but don't know how to get started. It's a fun and thoughtful present idea, โ€he said.

Karl Mohan, General Manager for Asia-Pacific at Crypto.com stated: "Australians are clearly interested in adopting cryptocurrencies and integrating their use into daily spending," before adding that Australians "are gradually increasing their use of cryptocurrencies. and blockchain technology ".

A Finder survey of 1,000 respondents in September found that one in six Australians now owns cryptocurrencies, with the total value of the assets totaling $ 8 billion. About 9% of Australians surveyed own Bitcoin, 8% own Ethereum, and 5% own Dogecoin.
