ACE Has Prepared a Huge List of Pirate Sites it Wants to Shut Down in 2024 * TorrentFreak

Home > Anti piracy > DMCA >

At a time when hundreds of millions of people in North America, Latin America, Europe and beyond had little more than Christmas on their minds, MPA and ACE were deciding which platforms to target in 2024. Their latest streaming slate, hosting, torrenting and other platforms is not only substantial, but almost certainly represents just the tip of a very large iceberg.

During the last few hours, users of the streaming site ahaseries.com who were hoping to access their favorite site would have been disappointed.

The same goes for those who tried to access uhuseries.com and owlserieshd.com.

All three domains are now under the control of the Motion Picture Association, which in turn directs visitors to the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) web portal. There they will be received by a message from ACE on behalf of the members of the anti-piracy coalition.

โ€œLOOK LEGALLY,โ€ the message says. "There are over 140 content providers/platforms around the world that offer legal access to your favorite movies and TV shows on a wide variety of devices."

The number of options in Thailand may have influenced the decisions made by visitors to the three sites mentioned above, but no matter where the pirate sites are located, ACE is likely aware of their existence.

Last week, in a California district court, the signature of MPA and ACE's head of content protection, Jan van Voorn, could be found on several DMCA subpoena requests. When approved, they will force third-party companies to hand over any information they have on about 40 pirate sites. One of those listed, a popular multi-content site in South America, says that after 13 years of operating online, it has already thrown in the towel.

It's unknown how the rest will respond, but as their traffic data suggests, the platforms in the spotlight receive tens of millions of visits each month. There is no doubt that ACE wants to change that situation.

The following tables show the domains listed in the MPA's DMCA citations and the allegedly infringing content. Also included is a general category (such as streaming or torrent) for the targeted sites, their traffic data for the most recent available month, and the third-party platform that has been ordered to deliver user data to MPA/ACE.

CompucaliTV.org has already informed its users that after 13 years of operating online, it has thrown in the towel. According to a report by in the Republic, a since-deleted message on the homepage read: โ€œThis is not goodbye, but a thank you. We regret to inform that the CompucaliTV site has closed.โ€

Former users They've been saying goodbye on social media, and one of them perfectly sums up why the site was great and why it was under pressure to close. in the same sentence.

โ€œI've downloaded Disney and Dreamworks movies in 1080p quality and dual audio for the last 2 years, I'm going to miss this one guys. RIP."

compucalitv-ido

Following reports that some users can still access the site depending on the region, it is worth noting that at least four domains similar to Compucalitv were registered in December, in addition to another dozen that already exist.

Domain hopping, compliance

This is just a small example of the complications that ACE faces on a daily basis. So-called domain hopping has become almost an art form in some parts of the world, and a report from Japan earlier this year notes that some sites operated from Vietnam actually increase their traffic when they jump to new domains. That's not the kind of news coalitions like ACE want to hear.

There are also indications that some platforms contacted by ACE indicate a certain level of compliance and then act in a way that suggests the opposite. If that is indeed the case, history says that a price will have to be paid for it at some point; Maybe not this year, maybe not next, but it will come.

Over time, all site operators get tired, get sick, start a family, find other more interesting things, or just get bored. When it comes to piracy, the MPA is never bored and never tires of setting an example when necessary.
