The voice actor behind a controversial character in Boyfriend Dungeon now he is being harassed online.
Alexander Gross, also known as Octopimp on Twitter, plays the role of Eric, the game's villain who stalks and harasses the player.
While there is a content warning for this at the beginning of Boyfriend Dungeon which developer Kitfox Games is amend to make clearer, some players are unhappy with the inclusion of potentially triggering content.
However, that is no excuse to harass the voice actor.
"Hey, I can't believe I have to address this, but don't send me hateful messages about my character in Boyfriend Dungeon. I know it sucks, but I'm just his voice actor. Please be respectful, โGross wrote on Twitter.

Most of the responses sympathize with Gross, surprised that the players cannot distinguish between performance and reality.
After all, Gross is simply playing a role in a story.
In a previous tweet, he joked about playing a role "so universally (though understandably) vilified."
I've never seen a character that I've so universally voiced (though understandably) vilified.

He also thanked his followers for the support after the abuse he has received.

Boyfriend Dungeon is now available on PC and Switch.
It's a dating simulator in which players date their weapons (which are actually people) before fighting them through randomly generated dungeons.
It's a weird setup, but it's downright weird and has a hitting soundtrack. Read our full review here.
