Adelaide Oval is now offering AFL fans the ability to purchase food and drink using cryptocurrency, a first for any major stadium in the country.

The initiative is supported by Adelaide Oval tenants, the Adelaide Crows, and facilitated by Datamesh, bringing cutting-edge payment technology and terminals to the venue. The announcement coincides with the AFL's Gather Round 2024 event, which will host five AFL matches and attract hundreds of thousands of fans.

Starting with the Crows' match against Melbourne on Thursday night, this innovative technology will be available at all AFL matches at Adelaide Oval for the remainder of the 2024 Toyota AFL Premiership season.

Some food and beverage kiosks in the South Stand will be equipped to accept cryptocurrency payments from customers in real time.
