Beloved Sentinels ALGS star shocks scene, retires from competitive Apex Legends

A long-standing North American giant withdraws from the competition Appendix legends after three years of playing. He has not only reached the last two ALGS championships, but he has shown his dominance on various teams as one of the best controller players in the region.

Beau "RamBeau" Sheidy announced his retirement from competition Appendix today, citing a lack of "love" for the competitive scene compared to when he started playing and other opportunities he wants to take advantage of.

"You always have to do what makes you happy in life, and right now I'm not happy," RamBeau succinctly summed up his thoughts on retirement.

RamBeau started playing competitive Appendix in 2020 for Flash point, find early success in community tournaments, including a first place finish in the 2021 GSN Championship. later joined XSET in October 2021 before rapidly moving to Torrent for the ALGS Pro League. The combination with then Torrent and current Sentinels IGL Cole "Rkn" Prommel led to success, with a 5th place in the 2022 Split One Playoffs, 16 in Split Two regular season and multiple first places in additional tournaments.

Although Torrent failed to qualify for the 2021-22 Championship after an 11th place in the Last Chance QualifierRam Beau was selected as emergency replacement for EMEA's GMT Esports after one of their players tested positive for COVID-19. Despite a rocky start to the group stage, GMT fought their way through the loser bracket to a fifth place in the grand finaleincluding a first round win due to RamBeau's performance in the final ring.

RamBeau was later signed by The guard, along with Rkn and Keon Berghout. Initially, the team had great domestic success, with multiple individual matchday victories and a 3rd place overall in the NA Pro League, claiming a place on the London LAN. RamBeau played the best split of his career, tied for first in individual deaths for the regiontying TSM's ImperialHal in 86 kills during the regular season. Sentinels collected the entire list after the Split One Playoffs and the team retained their NA Pro League spot for Split Two.

RamBeau's decision to step down comes amid a difficult time for the Sentinels. They are currently ranked 17th in NA after five days of competition, well outside the qualifying spots for the Split Two Playoffs. They will still have a chance to qualify by winning the Pro League regional final if they finish in the top 20, but the team will need to do so while fielding a new third-place finish.

Sentinels plays next April 16 at 5 pm CT as the team fights to keep their LAN hopes alive. Fans can continue to see the future of Sentinels in the official PlayApex Twitch and Youtube channels
