Bitcoin, dogecoin, Shiba Inu plunge; Cardano rises. Check crypto prices today

In cryptocurrencies, the price of Bitcoin was trading above $ 50,000 even as the largest and most popular in the world. cryptocurrency by market capitalization fell 0.6% to $ 50,180. Bitcoin, famous for its volatility, has lost over $ 18,000 since hitting a record high in early November, but is still up over 75% this year (to date or YTD) so far.

Meanwhile, Ether, the ethereum blockchain-linked currency and the second-largest cryptocurrency, was trading a lower percentage at $ 4,013. On the other hand, Dogecoin prices fell more than 2% to $ 0.18, while Shiba Inu also fell 0.7% to $ 0.000038.

Other digital tokens such as Solana, Polygon, Litecoin, Terra, XRP, Polkadot, Stellar also traded with cuts in the last 24 hours. Cardona rose more than 3% while Uniswap gained more than 4%. Meanwhile, the global crypto market capitalization dropped to $ 2.49 trillion, according to CoinGecko.

As a very successful year for cryptocurrencies draws to a close, some of the smaller coins are having a moment. Many altcoins have posted spectacular runs this year as they gained ground. Coins like Dogecoin, Cardano, and Shiba Inu, previously relegated to the most speculative corners of the market, have become household names this year.

Cryptocurrency prices went up on another roller coaster last year - they rose, fell, and then circulated again. El Salvador became the first country to convert Bitcoin to legal tender this year, while the first exchange-traded fund linked to Bitcoin futures also went public.
