TOKYO – Bitcoin's position as the major player in the cryptocurrency market is consolidating as the prospect of a cash inflow from institutional investors has pushed the virtual asset to its highest point in a year.
Bitcoin hit a year-to-date high above $31,000 last Saturday, amid a rally that followed BlackRock's June 15 request to US regulators for an exchange-traded fund based in cryptocurrency.
