Ram Shankar Katheria, a BJP MP, was convicted to two years in prison for assaulting employees of a commercial power utility in 2011. A Rs 50,000 punishment was also imposed on the former Minister of State for Human Resource Development. Katheria is likely to be disqualified from the Lok Sabha as a result of her prison term. Katheria is accused of attacking a torrent official and vandalizing the 'Torrent Power' office in a mall.
