BRO Karamyogis Rescues Four Passengers and Driver From Stuck Vehicle In Massive Torrent Waterfall โ€“ The Voice Of Sikkim

BRO Karamyogis rescues four passengers and the driver from a vehicle stuck in a massive cascade of torrents

On Sunday, due to heavy rain, a small waterfall turned into a huge torrent, washing away a certain part of the road from Singtam to Dikchu in east Sikkim.
Unknown about the change in weather and road conditions, a Mahindra Bolero vehicle with four passengers and the driver attempted to cross this waterfall at around 3:30 am in the morning, but the force of the water was too much even for the mighty vehicle.
The Bolero vehicle was swept away by the water, but was lucky to get stuck against some rocks, preventing it from falling into the deep gorge below.
Immediately, the message was forwarded to the nearest BRO detachment of the Swastik Project. The BRO Karamyogis sprang into action immediately and were there in no time.

When they arrived at the site, the four passengers and the driver were still trapped inside the vehicle. They could not get out because the doors were blocked by the rocks on one side while the force of the water prevented them from opening the doors on the other.
The brave Karamyogis put their own lives in danger and reached the vehicle through the huge waterfall and ensured the passengers a quick and safe rescue.
Thereafter, these BRO Karamyogis put their all into making sure the vehicle did not fall into the valley while safety measures were taken to get the passengers out of the stuck vehicle.
After almost an hour of efforts, the BRO was able to rescue all the passengers and the driver of the vehicle at around 5:30 am.
However, the extraction of the Bolero vehicle could not be carried out as the force of the water was too much for the BRO men to handle manually.
The ground officer directed the assembly of all nearby BRO earthmoving equipment to prevent the vehicle from falling over.
The JCB, the bulldozer, the crawler excavator and the paver all went into action. With methodical planning and ensuring maximum security measures, the BRO was finally able to get the bolero vehicle out around 9:30am.
Thereafter, the BRO went into its clockwork precision and planned the action of clearing up landslides and opening roads.
With JCB working from both ends, the landslide was quickly cleared to allow traffic blocked, from early morning, to travel by 10:00am
