Much of Hallein, a city outside Salzburg, Austria, was flooded on July 17, after torrential rains.
Hallein Mayor Alexander Stangassinger called the floods a "disaster" but saying that he was proud of how the townspeople reacted to the emergency.
In all of Europe, at least 180 people they have died from the floods. Authorities say the risk has not disappeared and that flood defenses are at risk of collapsing in several countries.
