Cardano became the most developed crypto project on GitHub in 2021 โ€” Santiment

According to data compiled by CryptoRank and Santiment, Cardano was the most developed crypto project on GitHub in 2021, with more than 140,000 events.

Rounding out the top three were Kusama and Polkadot in second and third, respectively, with roughly the same number of events during the year. Cardano outperformed Ethereum development activity by a wide margin, with the latter in fourth place. Santiment define a GitHub event to either create an issue, create a pull request, comment on an issue or pull request, or fork / highlight / view a code repository, and more.

In a live Youtube session last week, Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano revealed that there are approximately 127 projects in development on the Cardano blockchain. In addition, Hoskinson hopes that the number of THERE ARE users were multiplied by ten of the existing 2 million, thanks to the increasing popularity of non-fungible tokens, or NFTs.

Cardano's technological advancement is also gaining ground after Alonzo. One of the notable blockchain works in progress is the Layer Two Hydra Upgrade, which funnels off-chain transactions to stakeholder pools without breaking up the ledger. In theory, it could allow advanced linear scaling of the network with hundreds of "hydra nodes", each of which processes hundreds of transactions.

Another notable mention is a novel fintech funding mechanism, known as an initial stake offering (ISPO), which is unique to the Cardano blockchain. In this setup, blockchain enthusiasts delegate their cryptocurrencies to a protocol and receive tokens from the new project that they fund as rewards. Rather, the rewards for participation from the ADA go to developers. The funds do not leave the delegator's wallet, which makes the process quite secure. One of those projects, Genius performance, saw its ISPO funds surpass $ 118 million in 24 hours.
