Former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison has hired a former SEC official who oversaw many of the regulator's biggest crypto cases as her lawyer in the federal investigation into the calamitous collapse of cryptocurrency exchange FTX.
Stephanie Avakian, former chief of the Securities and Exchange Commission's enforcement division, represents Ellison along with other attorneys from her firm. wilmer haleaccording to people familiar with the matter.
