Centrica named one of The Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality 2024

Centrica has been named among the top 50 employers for gender equality by The Times, for our commitment to gender equality in the workplace.

The ranking includes some of the UK's largest employers and recognizes those who are making gender equality part of their business strategy at all levels. Gender inequality is still prevalent in many UK workplaces and can be exacerbated in times of economic disruption, such as the global Covid-19 pandemic.

The criteria for inclusion on the list are broad and include taking a proactive approach to eradicating inequality. Applicants were assessed based on their policies, such as their approach to flexible working, family support, remuneration, reward and job progression.

Kat Parsons, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Leader, said: โ€œI am incredibly proud that Centrica has been recognized among the Times 50 Best Companies for Gender Equality in 2024. This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace across the organization. We want everyone to have the opportunity to prosper.โ€

The recognition comes after Centrica was named a Tier 1 employer in the CCLA Investment Management Mental Health Benchmark, which assesses the management and reporting of mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. Centrica was one of only four companies to hold Tier 1 status.
