The City of Gainesville's website has been named 2023 Website of the Year and People's Choice Award Winner from the 13th Annual Digital Government Award by Granicus, a leading provider of government experience software services and solutions.
The city launched its redesigned website in June 2022, updating and reorganizing content for users on a new, easy-to-use platform fully compatible with mobile and tablet devices. The website features improved accessibility for the visually impaired and the ability to translate its web pages into nine foreign languages.
Data collected through user surveys shows that 73 percent of visitors find information easily and 68 percent find the website easy to navigate.
โI am very proud of the work of our Communications staff,โ said Gainesville City Manager Cynthia W. Curry. "It is vital that our neighbors have a useful online resource to easily find information about the city's many services, programs and meetings."
This year's Digital Government Awards span seven award categories: Change Agent, Community Engagement, Customer Experience, Digital Transformation, Operational Efficiency, Trust & Transparency, and Website of the Year.
"The Granicus Digital Government Awards demonstrate governments' commitment to digital transformation and delivering services to their constituents," said Gabriele "G" Masili, Chief Customer Officer of Granicus. "We are inspired by their efforts."
Sunnyvale, CA took second place in the Website of the Year category. Third place was awarded to Grand Prairie, TX, followed by runners-up: Fairfield, CA; Foot. Lauderdale; Washington State Department of Health; Olathe, K.S.; Hennepin County Sheriff's Office; Executive Office of the Los Angeles County Board; and the USPS Office of Inspector General. Honorees will appear at the virtual Digital Transformation Summit on October 25.
