Coinbase Drops Most Since July as SEC Cracks Down on Crypto Staking

Coinbase Global Inc.'s shares fell the most in more than six months after the rival kraken was forced to stop providing an investment service that is also offered by the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the US.

Kraken will pay $30 million to settle The Securities and Exchange Commission accusations that it violated US rules with its cryptocurrency staking products and will suspend them in the US as part of the settlement with the regulator. The SEC alleged that Kraken's staking service was an illegal sale of securities.
