Crypto crash a boon for gamers as graphics card prices plunge

TOKYO - The price of graphics cards, a crucial computer component for data-intensive activities like gaming, has fallen around 60% from a 2021 high amid a slowdown in cryptocurrency mining.

A wide range of graphics cards lined the shelves of Dospara, a computer parts store in the capital's Akihabara electronics district, in early December. In early 2021, those same shelves would have been empty.
