Crypto prices today: Bitcoin above the $23,000 mark, top altcoins witness gains

On Monday, the global crypto market capitalization was in the green, as Bitcoin held its position above the $23,000 mark and traded higher for the past 24 hours.

On the first day of the week, Bitcoin, the world's largest cryptocurrency, was up 2.05 percent to $23,709.18 as of this writing (1030 IST). Its closest rival, Ethereum, was priced at $1,635.36, up 2.41 percent.

Other popular cryptocurrencies also witnessed a gain in their values. XRP is up 0.70 percent, Cardano is up 1.63 percent, Polygon is up 0.93 percent, Solana is up 5.45 percent, and Polkadot is up 0.85 percent from the previous day. However, tokens like Dai lost 0.03 percent and UNUS SED LEO was down 7.51 percent at the time of writing.

On Jan. 30, total crypto market volume rose 25.74% to $49.74 billion over the past day, while global crypto market capitalization stood at $1.08 trillion, up 1. 70%. Currently, Bitcoin's dominance is 42.5 percent, followed by Ethereum's at 18.6 percent.

Winners and losers

Today's top gainer was Mina, up 17.15 percent. On the other hand, tokens like UNUS SED LEO, Toncoin, OKB, etc. They were in the red zone.

meme coins win

Popular meme coins recorded growth in their values. While Elon Musk's favorite Dogecoin was up 0.60 percent at $0.08925, another canine-based meme coin, Shiba Inu, was up 0.68 percent and is currently trading at $0.00001204.

Metaverse tokens see price growth

Most metaverse tokens were trading in the green today. Decentraland rose 13.06% and The Sandbox grew 6.06%. Other metaverse coins like ApeCoin, Axie Infinity, Theta Network, and Enjin Coin advanced 3.09%, 2.67%, 0.96%, and 1.17%, respectively.
