Cryptocurrencies still in green even as equity markets struggle

Cryptocurrency markets have capitalized on the momentum gained the previous day with major tokens in the green for the second day in a row. Global market capitalization rose 2.74% to $1.96 trillion at 10:10am IST, CoinMarketCap displayed data.

Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market cap, is up 2.64% in the last 24 hours. The Ethereum blockchain token ETH also rose 3.26 percent. USDT Tether, which is a stablecoin, was up 0.01 percent.

Bitcoin, USDT Tether and Ethereum also saw a significant increase in their traded volumes in the last 24 hours. It is worth mentioning that these were the first tokens accepted by the Ukrainian government in the midst of the current crisis with Russia. The Ukrainian government revealed wallets that accept these tokens in a tweet on Friday.

The BNB token, native to the Binance exchange, rose 4.49% and the USDC stablecoin rose 0.01%.

XRP Ripple and AVAX Avalanche are up just 0.09 percent and 0.07 percent, respectively.

The Cardano blockchain token ADA is the only token in the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market cap to show a downward trend in the last 24 hours. The token was down 0.18 percent.

The Ukrainian government also, in a tweet, revealed a wallet that accepts Polkadot on Monday. The token is up 1.49 percent in the last 24 hours.

Solana rises 6.63 percent and Terra Luna 4.48 percent.

Popular meme-based coins such as Dogecoin and Shiba Inu rose 0.91 and 3.20 percent, respectively.

The biggest gainers of the day have been meme coins like The Luxury Coin which is up an astronomical 1990.99%, Doge Rise Up which is up 908.53%, Shiba Tron which is up 872.16%, Booby Trap, which was up 711.86 percent, and Zodium, which was up 309.78 percent.

Also, tokens like LCMS, pFTM, Duckie Land, Bitcoin God, and Streamer were the biggest losers in the last 24 hours. LCMS fell 94.79 percent and pFTM fell 63.72 percent. The other three tokens fell more than 50 percent.
