Cryptocurrency prices rose slightly in the last 24 hours as the major virtual currencies held around their closest support levels.
Bitcoin, the world's most popular cryptocurrency, was trading $ 57,041.30 or 1.17 percent higher than its price 24 hours ago at 5:15 p.m. Bitcoin's market capitalization hovered around $ 1.08 trillion and the trading volume for the last 24 hours was $ 1 billion.
Ether, the native token of the Ethereum platform, was trading at $ 4,600 or 1.91% higher than its price 24 hours ago. Ether's market capitalization increased to $ 540 billion and the 24-hour trading volume was $ 1.04 billion.

All other cryptocurrencies also rose slightly today due to the general improvement in sentiment. However, the cryptocurrency space remains volatile due to the growing threat from the new Omicron variant of the coronavirus.
Commenting on the momentum, Edul Patel, CEO and co-founder of Mudrex, a crypto investment platform based on global algorithms, โIt was a typical session of limited range for the cryptocurrency market over the last 24 hours. Most of the major cryptocurrencies were hovering around their closest support levels. "
