Cryptocurrency prices today: Bitcoin trading flat; Ethereum, Dogecoin & Uniswap fall up to 5%

Bitcoin, the world's largest cryptocurrency, was trading on a flat note today. The price of Bitcoin fell 0.36% to $ 62,247 on Coinmarketcap. The market capitalization of the cryptocurrency reached $ 1,175.54 billion.

Currently, the global crypto market capitalization stands at $ 2.74 trillion, a decrease of 0.11%. Other cryptocurrencies were trading in the red.

Ethereum fell 1% to $ 4,537 and Dogecoin was trading 2.32% lower at $ 0.2617. The Stellar digital token lost 3.41% to $ 0.3722 and XRP decreased 2.51% to $ 1.20.

Litecoin lost 1.41% to $ 201.24 and Uniswap was trading 4.96% lower at $ 25.56.

Lately, cryptocurrency prices have risen due to comments from billionaire Elon Musk and Cathie Wood of Ark Investment Management LLC.

In late July, Elon Musk said that Tesla was "more likely" to start accepting bitcoin as payment again. The comment helped the cryptocurrency break above the $ 30,000 level.

The electric car maker said in May that it would no longer accept the cryptocurrency for purchases. It has been a wild ride for Bitcoin the last three years. The digital currency made its grand debut on Wall Street in December 2017, when major futures exchanges launched Bitcoin futures. The attention brought Bitcoin to roughly $ 19,300, an unheard of price for the coin.
