Cryptocurrency Used For Payment | โ€“ Times of India

Ahmedabad: The drug trafficking operation was carried out in the dark network and social media channels. Drug advertisements would be posted on social media and the dark web. Those who knew the business placed orders. Payment would be made in advance by cryptocurrency. Only after payment is made is the package sent via courier.
The courier receives a false or incorrect address and the package is picked up while the delivery person is halfway to the (false) address. Officials said the involvement of courier company workers cannot be ruled out, as an international shipment cannot simply be delivered halfway.
The FIR filed at the city cyber crime police station mentions that the addresses of the recipient were in Ambawadi, Ambli, Subhash Bridge, Rakhial, Vatva and Nalsarovar areas of Ahmedabad, six addresses were in Surat city and one in Vavol in Gandhinagar, Bechraji. Bhavnagar, Idar, Vapi, Botad, Rajkot and Vadodara. In most of these packages, the item apparently sent was books. One of these books, '3000 Questions About Me', contained a white substance that turned out to be cocaine.
