The video recording also reveals that Chauhan had expressed concern about the quality of his helmet, mentioning that he could get out of it if he drove too fast.
Chauhan, who came from dehradun, ran a cycling YouTube channel that had more than 1.2 million subscribers. In one of the last videos that he shared on his channel, he is heard saying that the section of the expressway was "good to reach the goal of 300". The video also shows it crossing the speed of 279 km per hour before slowing down.
SP (rural) Palash Bansal said: "Based on preliminary investigation, it appears that Agastya Chauhan died due to speeding. Further investigation is underway." No police complaint was filed on the matter as of Saturday night, police said.
