Developers in Chennai Offer Natural Gas Connections in Homes

Developers in Chennai, India, are starting to offer piped natural gas (PNG) connections as a service to attract buyers. This initiative comes in response to the cumbersome process of getting a gas connection, which has led potential buyers like IT engineer K Jayakrishnan to look for properties that already have connections available in PNG.

In addition to high-rise apartments, piped gas is now being introduced in residential plots and villa projects. The use of PNG on residential properties is gaining popularity due to its security benefits. Unlike traditional gas cylinder connections, PNG does not require people to purchase and store gas cylinders. Instead, it is metered, allowing residents to use and pay for gas based on their consumption. Additionally, PNG is lighter than air, so it disperses quickly, reducing the risk of fire accidents.

Several developers have already partnered with companies like Torrent Gas Chennai Pvt. Limited. Ltd to provide PNG connections in your projects. For example, VGN Homes Private Ltd has included PNG connections in its luxury residential plots in Ambattur. Around 4,000 people have already registered for PNG connections with Torrent Gas Chennai Pvt. Limited. Ltd, and the company aims to reach 10,000 units soon. Other companies like AG and P Pratham are collaborating with real estate developers and associations to introduce PNG in Kancheepuram and Chengalpet.

With the growing popularity of PNG, it is expected to become a common feature in residential projects. Customers increasingly prefer PNG over traditional gas connections due to its convenience and safety benefits. Despite concerns raised by new electric vehicle policies in Delhi that may affect gas sales, industry experts such as the chief executive of Indraprastha Gas Ltd believe PNG demand will continue to grow.
