Dozens of French actors denounce ‘lynching’ of Gerard Depardieu – Times of India

Almost 60 French actors and other prominent figures have denounced the "lynching" from the disgraced movie legend Gerard Depardieu, who is accused of rape and faces a litany of other sexual assault allegations. An open letter signed by the British actress Charlotte Ramplingformer first lady and French singer Carla Bruni, and Depardieu's ex-partner, actress Carole Bouquet, claim that the star is the victim of a "torrent of hate".
"Gerard Depardieu is probably the best of all actors," adds the letter published Monday in the French newspaper Le Figaro. Depardieu, who has made more than 200 films and television series, was accused of rape in 2020.
His supporters said: "We can no longer remain silent in the face of the lynching he faces." Depardieu, who will turn 75 on Wednesday, called the signatories "brave" and praised the letter.
6-year-old boy put on wrong flight from Philadelphia to Florida
A 6-year-old boy who took a flight for the Christmas holidays to visit his grandmother in Southwest Florida was put on the wrong plane and ended up 257 kilometers away in Orlando, Florida. When grandmother Maria Ramos showed up Thursday at Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers to greet her grandson flying for the first time from Philadelphia, she was told she was not on the Spirit Airlines flight. "I ran inside the plane to the stewardess and asked her: Where is my grandson? Did they deliver him to you in Philadelphia?" "She said, 'No, he didn't have children with me," Ramos told WINK News.
Then he got a call from his grandson from the Orlando airport, telling him he had landed. In a statement to WINK News, Spirit Airlines said, "We apologize to the family for this experience."
