It's great for sharing files and downloading a single server, but it's also great for hacking. No piracy on the high seas, simply intellectual property theft and illegal file sharing. So the theory is this: someone wants to download elden ring for free, so they go to their favorite browser and search for "Elden Ring torrent", all the search results are about the horse! Pirates defeated.
Obviously, with a few more keywords and a positive attitude, the pirates will return to their swashbuckling ways (cloak volleys?). But this is not the first time that FromSoft has a conspiracy of search word characters. There are similar tinfoil hat conspiracies about the character Patches from the souls of the devil and rom of Transmitted by blood. While these may be mere coincidences, it's equally likely that director Hidetaka Miyazaki included these names as a cheeky nod to tech-minded gamers.
Next time we see him, we'll have to ask him. And we'll also ask him why the hell he designed all these unfair ways to die souls Serie.
