Elliptic integrates ChatGPT to bolster crypto risk detection

Crypto risk management company Elliptic has integrated ChatGPT to increase its accuracy and speed in detecting crypto threats, a move that comes amid other crypto companies reporting mixed results on their implementation.

Elliptic provides risk assessments to cryptocurrency users regarding transactions, wallets, and exchanges, using a proprietary dataset with "more than a decade of data."

In an effort to improve the accuracy and speed of identifying new risks, Elliptic has implemented ChatGPT in its off-chain investigative and intelligence operations, according to a June 1 statement. statement.

It was noted that ChatGPT will enable its investigators and investigators to address new risk factors "in greater volumes and at a faster speed than ever before."

Jackson Hull, Elliptic's CTO, stated that its implementation will help expose hidden risks:

โ€œOur clients come to us to know exactly their risk exposure. The ChatGPT integration allows us to extend our intelligence, giving our clients insight into risk they can't get anywhere else.โ€

Several crypto companies have implemented ChatGPT in their operations of late, with mixed results.

Crypto.com cryptocurrency exchange launched an AI based on ChatGPT user assistant, Amyon May 3, in an effort to help inform users about the industry, including real-time token prices, projects, and historical events.

While a Crypto.com spokesperson told Cointelegraph that AI has the potential for โ€œmassive potential implicationsโ€ in the crypto industry, they expect a lot of feedback from this AI pilot, which will โ€œbe integrated into future updates.โ€

However, cryptocurrency derivatives exchange Bitget has already identified "cracks" in the accuracy of ChatGPT responses.

Gracy Chen, managing director of crypto derivatives exchange Bitget, informed Cointelegraph on June 1 that while Bitget initially i was impressed by ChatGPT to handle routine customer queries, errors were caught when "more complex queries" were given.

โ€œDespite being trained on extensive data, ChatGPT sometimes delivers misleading, biased, or incomplete information, as a recent internal test reminded us,โ€ Chen noted.

Meanwhile, Solana Labs announced on April 26 that Solana (SUN) users will soon be able interact with the Solana network directly from ChatGPT, allowing them to check wallet balances, transfer tokens and buy NFTs, via an open source plugin built for ChatGPT.

Solana Labs has not yet announced when this feature will be publicly available.

Cointelegraph reached out to Ellipti for comment but did not receive a response by press time.
