Did Elon Musk Launch an AI Cryptocurrency Trading Platform Called Bitsoft 360 AI? No, that's not true: This video of Musk was taken from a guest appearance on Joe Rogan's podcast on September 7, 2018, and his transcript shows that Musk never said: "I launched an AI cryptocurrency trading platform called Bitsoft 360". The fabricated audio was added to a YouTube video that is nearly five years old.

The Joe Rogan Experience Episode 1169 aired live on September 7, 2018. The 2:37:02 long video is posted on youtube. The verified account of singer Rex Evans posted on facebook a video from June 13, 2023, captioned:

๐ŸƒElon urges everyone ๐Ÿƒin GB to take advantage of this great opportunity before the big banks close completely.

Using Google's reverse image search, Lead Stories was able to match the video of Musk wearing a black T-shirt with the inscription "OCCUPY" on Rogan's podcast on YouTube. Lead Stories searched the podcast transcript for the phrase โ€œcryptocurrency trading platformโ€ and the terms โ€œcryptocurrencyโ€ and โ€œcryptocurrency,โ€ but these words did not appear once.

TO search in Google for information about Elon Musk and Bitsoft360 nothing was returned verifying that this company was launched by Musk.

Items that were returned, such as one in company2community.comlet's say the company is run anonymously, and that fraudulent ads on Facebook and Reddit have falsely associated the company not only with Musk, but also with businessman Jeff Bezos (here on reddit), Richard Branson and journalist Martin Lewis. The About section of the Bitsoft360.com website does not name a founder or identify any company officer by name.

A article on nasdaq.com says:

Does Elon Musk use Bitsoft 360?
Tesla and Twitter CEO Elon Musk is one of the richest people in the world. He has previously shown his support for meme tokens like Dogecoin and Bitcoin. There are rumors that Twitter could launch its own cryptocurrency since Musk took over.

After investigating various Reddit threads and online websites, we were unable to uncover any information linking Elon Musk or Tesla to Bitsoft 360.

Lead Stories wrote to Bitsoft360 via the contact form on the bitsoft360.com website to ask for feedback on these fake ads. We will update this fact check if we receive a response.

When viewed from a desktop computer, the video posted by Rex Evans does not appear to have a link, although the video asks listeners to click on the video for more information. However, on a mobile device, the video displays differently and there is a "More Information" link, shown below.

This link is not to bitsoft360.com, but to what appears to be a sportswear store on the website. humanlike.top. (The store is actually not called "a little man-like".) This website has been mirrored from a real brand called Gym King of the website https://thegymking.com/.

This seems to be a case of "covert." In an article about a similar but different crypto scam using Musk's name, the security company Avast describes how to use cloaking:

playing hide and seek
The sites used in this campaign can detect if a VPN is being used to access the site, and if so, display content from an e-store. The e-shop is not working, site visitors can search for products, but cannot add them to their cart or make purchases. This is done to hide the fraudulent page from unwanted access and as an attempt to evade phishing hunters and security software.

Lead Stories has previously published several fact checks (here) about false promotions of cryptocurrency using the name of Musk or his company Tesla.
