Fantom Foundation issues clarification statement about departure of Andre Cronje and Anton Nell

Recently, news outlet Rekt.news made startling accusations about Fantom Opera, a layer 1 blockchain, after the foundation's technical advisor, Andre Cronje, and senior solutions architect, Anton Nell, announced that they were leaving the crypto space altogether. Almost immediately, community concerns arose after Nell tweeted, "There are about ~25 apps and services that we will be canceling on April 3, 2022." In the now-deleted Rekt article, alleged The next:

"Fantom, Solidly, SpookySwap, Abracadabra, Geist - multiple projects, all intertwined in a system designed to extract maximum value for a small group of experts who are now walking off the stage."

However, on Friday, the Fantom Foundation published a statement regarding the alleged "factual inaccuracies," "debunked claims," โ€‹โ€‹and "misinformation" in the Rekt article. Specifically, the Fantom Foundation stated:

โ€œAndre and Anton didn't 'finish' 25 projects. Instead, any input (such as user interface) in these projects would be handed over to existing teams, many of which had been developing and running independently.โ€

Furthermore, the foundation explained that neither Cronje nor Nell were core developers at Fantom and that the entity itself was not involved in the creation of any of the 25 projects (including, above all, Yearn.finance) in question. That appear that in part due to the pair's departure, the total value pegged at Fantom has fallen to $8.27 billion from $11.26 billion on Sunday, the date of the announcement. The blockchain has processed more than 200 million transactions with more than 2 million active wallets since its inception.
