FLR, MNT, and GALA Explode by Double-Digits, While BTC Retraces Toward $51K (Market Watch)

Bitcoin attempted to break down the $52,000 level over the weekend but had little success and is now down to $51,000 once again.

Ethereum jumped to a new multi-year peak above $3,100 but stopped there, while XRP, ADA, and DOGE have now turned red.

BTC falls again to $51,000

The last seven days were quite different from the previous ten, in which the leading cryptocurrency gained more than ten thousand dollars and soared above $50,000 for the first time in more than two years. However, the last week finally brought some calm to the market, and BTC remained relatively still in a range between $51,000 and $52,000.

The most substantial fluctuations came mid-week, when Bitcoin soared to $53,000 to hit a new multi-year peak. However, it was quickly pushed south and fell more than two thousand dollars within hours.

Since then, BTC has failed to resume its bull run and was about to break above $52,000 on some occasions, but to no avail. The latest rejection came over the weekend, and the cryptocurrency is now struggling to stay above $51,000.

Its market cap has fallen back to $1 trillion on CG, and its dominance over alts is 48.3%.

ETH stopped at $3.1K

Ethereum continued its impressive recent performance in the last 24 hours and it shot itself at over $3,100 today. This was its highest price in almost two years. However, ETH failed to stay there, at least for now, and has fallen roughly $100 since then.

BNB also hit a local high of $390 today after a 2% rise, but has pulled back slightly. The rest of the larger cap alts are in the red, with losses of around 1-3% from the likes of SOL, XRP, ADA, AVAX, DOGE, DOT and LINK.

By contrast, Flare, Mantle, and GALA have taken to the main stage with double-digit price increases. FLR increased by 19%, MNT by 14% and GALA by 10% in the last 24 hours.

The total crypto market capitalization reached $2.1 trillion on CG today, but has declined by $20 billion since then.
