Fratelli Beretta USA Meat Charcuterie Products Containing Coppa Recalled Due to Possible Contamination

Concord, New Hampshire, USA โ€“ The Division of Public Health Services (DPHS) of the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) advises residents not to consume ready-to-eat (RTE) meat deli products that contain Coppa, a type of meat dry-cured pork. produced by Fratelli Beretta USA, Inc. The meat has been recalled because it may have been underprocessed and could be contaminated with foodborne pathogens.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in collaboration with local and state partners, are investigating an ongoing outbreak of Salmonella Infections potentially related to RTE Coppa products. To date there has been one disease associated with Salmonella Outbreak in New Hampshire.

"As Salmonella "Bacteria can cause serious illness, it is best to throw away any potentially contaminated food rather than risk infection," said Iain Watt, acting director of the DPHS.

The recalled products were distributed to stores across the country, including Walmart, Costco, Market Basket and Hannaford stores in New Hampshire. The products and labels of the products subject to recall can be found in the USDA website.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.
