After Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) and Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) reduced CNG prices, Torrent Gas decided to reduce compressed natural gas (CNG) prices by Rs 2.50 per kilogram across its facilities.

IGL has implemented a reduction of Rs 2.5/kg in CNG prices in Delhi NCR, effective 6:00 am on March 7. Similarly, MGL has announced a notable decrease in CNG prices, lowering them by Rs 2.5 per kilogram, resulting in a price of Rs 73.50 per kilogram.

This initiative aims to provide relief to consumers amid rising energy costs. The reduction in CNG prices coincides with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement of a Rs 100 decrease in LPG cylinder prices on International Women's Day.

Prime Minister Modi took to social media platform He stated: "By improving the affordability of cooking gas, we also aim to promote the well-being of families and foster a healthier environment. This aligns with our dedication to empowering women and ensuring their 'ease of living'."

This measure by Torrent Gas aligns with the government's efforts to alleviate financial burdens, particularly for households, including women.

Furthermore, in line with its commitment to meet the country's energy demand, Torrent Power Limited (TPL) has secured a contract to supply additional power from its gas plant.

According to a TOI report, National Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Thermal Power Corporation (NVVN) has awarded the contract to TPL, reflecting confidence in the company's ability to meet electricity needs during the upcoming summer season.

The gas-fired power plant operated by Torrent Power Limited will be operational from March 16 to June 30, coinciding with the period of maximum demand. This development underlines Torrent's dedication to contributing to the energy sector and ensuring uninterrupted energy supply, especially during times of increased demand.

These actions demonstrate a proactive approach by public and private entities to address energy-related challenges and meet consumer needs.

By reducing CNG prices and improving power generation capabilities, Torrent Gas and Torrent Power Limited exemplify their commitment to serving communities and supporting economic stability.
