The agent of Pep Guardiola's former assistant coach has confirmed that his client is no longer interested in taking charge of one of Africa's biggest teams after his previous application was rejected.
Following a disappointing performance during the recent 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, coach Finidi George has resigned from the Nigerian dugout after just two games in charge as permanent coach.

Since George has resigned from his position, members of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) are now believed to be looking for a foreign coach as their recent experiment with a native coach did not go as planned.
The NFF is understood to have opened applications for the vacant position, with the organization looking to appoint a new man at the helm by September, when the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers begin.
