Here’s how to get your horse in Elden Ring

Elden Ring is a vast open world, easily the largest game made by developer FromSoftware. As such, for players new to these types of games, it can be a bit overwhelming at first, and they may get confused or give up. If you're not paying attention, you might lose your horse, Torrent. Don't worry, we are here to help you.

1. After creating your character, continue through the tutorial until you reach the open world.

2. Avoiding the Tree Sentinel (the knight riding near your rest point), you need to head northwest until you reach elle's church.

3. From the church, follow the golden path on your map, heading northeast until you go through a forest and come across an enemy camp.

4. Either kill the soldiers in the camp or better yet avoid them as you make your way to the nearby castle gate.

5. There will be a grace site nearby for you to rest.

6. A conversation will start where you will talk to Melina and you will be granted the Spectral Steed Whistle.

That's all about it! You can now summon Torrent the Horned Horse using this Spectral Steed Whistle. We recommend equipping it on your quick-use items, below the Equipment menu tab, so you can easily access Torrent when needed.

In case we haven't made this clear yet, Elden Ring is big. It's really big. The map is huge, and with everything to do, with secrets and new areas around every corner, it's one of the best xbox games available. Having Torrent isn't technically necessary, but it will make your gaming time much more enjoyable instead of just wandering everywhere on foot.

In particular, using horseback combat to fight dragons and get Dragon Hearts it is an absolute necessity. Flying dragons have a wide arc of attack, especially when breathing fire, so the mobility that Torrent offers is not only a complete game changer for you, it's borderline.

However, keep in mind that Torrent is not invincible. Your horse can take damage, especially fall damage, so you'll need to keep it healed by feeding it raisins. These can be crafted by gathering the orange-red Rowa Fruits that you will see all over the map. You will also have to unlock crafting by purchasing the necessary items from the merchant in the Elleh Church.
