The head of a holiday park shares footage of the moment a huge wave crashed into an arcade, warning Britons to prepare for flooding ahead of heavy rain.

Rob Braddick, 50, had been watching the Westward Ho! ride in Devon from the outback Ho! Barts Family Entertainment Center when she heard a loud noise in the room.

The 50-year-old rushed in to find a wave had torn off a glass-paneled front door and its protective dash to cause ยฃ40,000 worth of damage.

He shared the CCTV clip showing the huge deluge of water crashing against his windows and the exploding arcade machines as a warning to others following the Meteorological warnings from the Meteorological Office this weekend.

Forecasters issued a yellow rain warning for Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., saying homes and businesses would likely be flooded and power supplies would face "some disruption."

Less than two weeks after the 2014 incident, the entrance was boarded up and moved around the corner to avoid falling victim to the merciless maritime climate again.

Rob, from Westward Ho!, Devon, said: 'We've never had anything like this before or since.

"We knew that corner was vulnerable, so we boarded it up for the night, but the wave just came right through and pushed through the doors and windows."

โ€œWe heard a shaking and a lot of breaking glass. We could see the water on the carpet so we ran hoping there was no one standing in that area. It was really dangerous.

Fortunately, no one was hurt by the strong waves in the game room.

In total, there was ยฃ40,000 worth of damage following the terrifying incident.

Rob's family business has owned the arcade, named Mrs B's Amusements at the time of the incident, since 1992 and they also own pubs and a holiday park in Westward Ho.

The businessman's Facebook post read: 'Wow. It must have been some wave and the doors were boarded up outside. Nine years ago tonight.
