Is stock market open on Thanksgiving, Black Friday? Hours, close time

The United States stock markets will be closed on Thursday, November 23 in observance of the Thanksgiving public holiday.

The Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange will be closed on Thursday and will reopen on Friday, although with reduced hours.

The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will open at their usual hours on Friday, but will close at 1 pm EST.

The US bond market will also be closed on Thursday and will close at 2 pm EST on Friday, according to the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association.

Thanksgiving marks the penultimate market closing on the 2023 holiday calendar, outside of Christmas Day. After that, markets will close again on New Year's Day and Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, January 15).
