Jack Fincham has said he is on a 'road to recovery' after speaking out about his struggles with depression and addiction on Instagram.
2018 Island of love The winner thanked his fans for their support after sharing a video admitting he was 'really struggling'.
The Essex man said a 'torrent' of online abuse and 'fake' friends had taken its toll.
Jack said he was now taking steps to get help after realizing he was in trouble.
'To touch what's going on, I'm really struggling. I am really battling depression, anxiety, addiction and today I have taken some good steps to get help.
'... I've had a lot of fake friends come and go, I was very surprised when I was in my dark space, all the people who said they would be there weren't there.
'I'm not going to feel sorry for myself, I have my own responsibilities. I want to be a kind and personable person and I do my best. '
Speaking about the online abuse, Jack confessed that he thought he had thicker skin and now he has no one else to talk to other than his family.
'There have been obstacles, some people have opinions about my life. The torrent of abuse on Instagram has affected me greatly. It couldn't be further from the truth. Words hurt and we see them.
He added: 'I have turned off my likes and comments count because I was getting depressed. I was putting myself in a really bad space.
'I'll keep you informed. I am a happy and lucky person, I have a lot of love to give. But I don't know who I'm talking to, I'm talking to you because I feel like I don't have anyone else to talk to other than my family, obviously.
Jack revealed that he was going online now in hopes that he can encourage others to seek help.
'If I can help a person, I am happy. You should talk about mental health because it is very serious. It is terrible and it even affects you physically.
'You don't want to do anything, you don't want to exercise, you don't want to leave the house and it's horrible.
`` I'm sorry this is depressing, but I wanted to address it because in the last few weeks I have had some nasty and exaggerated comments.
โPeople think it doesn't affect you, but it affects you, it's not pleasant. The added pressure of whatever you do is reflected on your family, that's the worst pressure on earth. I feel like I've let everyone down.
"I promise everyone that I have turned a new page and I want everyone to be proud."
He said he hopes people will like him because of the way they first saw him on television after winning the reality competition series with his ex-girlfriend Dani Dyer.
'If someone does something bad, it doesn't mean they are a bad person. Like if someone does something nice, that doesn't make him a fucking Ghandi. It does not work like that '.
