In a recent interview with CNBC, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen acknowledged the growing role of cryptocurrencies in the US financial economy. “There have been benefits of cryptocurrencies and we recognize that innovation in the payment system can be a healthy thing. We would like to present recommendations that will create a regulatory environment for innovation,” she said. Yellen added that she will work to create a regulation that promotes innovation in the sector.
