JITO Ahimsa Run Powered By Torrent Group marks its entry into the Guinness Book of World Records

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]April 5 (ANI/PNN): Thousands of enthusiastic runners took to the streets of Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC)Mumbai, to participate in the 'IIFL JITO Ahimsa Run Powered by torrent group' on April 2, 2023. This unique race was held to spread the message of peace and non-violence among people around the world. The event started at MMRDA Ground, and the race went through several corporate neighborhoods in BKC before the runners finally made it back to the finish line.

Participants ran in four established categories: a 21km half marathon, 10km and 5km timed runs, and a 3km fun run. For the first time, more than 500 visually impaired children above the age of 12 from all over Maharashtra participated in the race. An 80-year-old woman was the oldest to participate in the race. This race marked his entry in Guinness World Records, Word Records India and Limca Book of Records for most runners who ran in multiple places for the cause of Ahimsa (non-violence).
The event was attended by prominent personalities, including Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar, Jt C P Satyendra Chaudhary, amruta fadnavis, motilal oswalSubhash Runwal, Sukhraj Nahar, Prithviraj Kothari, Pradeep Rathore and Jayant Jain.

Reshma Kevate won the 21 km JITO Ahimsa half marathon race in the women's open category, while Vivek More won the men's open category. Poonam Sonune in the women's open and Rohit Kumar in the men's open clinched the winner's award in the 10 km race. Jyoti Singh and Viraj Patil respectively won the women's and men's 5km categories.

The event was a highly inclusive event representing people of all ages, genders, communities, and sports abilities coming together to spread the message of peace and nonviolence. This is the first time in world history that more than 120,000 runners have united for a cause in 65 cities in India simultaneously. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the winners, participants and people who have supported this noble cause," said Prithviraj Kothari, President of JITO Mumbai Zone.
"IIFL JITO Ahimsa Run presented a great opportunity for those who wanted to run with a purpose. It was very encouraging for us to witness the participation of thousands of runners and spectators. The race steadfastly met its goal of uniting all Indians in a common cause of peace, empathy, and nonviolence.
