The death toll from the collapse of two catastrophic dams in eastern Libya has risen to 6,000, a unity government official said, as rescue teams continue to recover hundreds of bodies from the coastal city of Derna.
At least 10,000 people are missing, the Red Cross confirmed, following the floods that hit Derna over the weekend following the collapse of two dams. Local officials have said it is unlikely that many of those who have not yet been found are alive.
