London bus passenger received ‘torrent of anti-Semitic abuse’

olice investigating an anti-Semitic attack on a bus in the middle London they have launched a Closed TV circuit image of the suspect and asked for help identifying the man.

TO passenger aboard a 113 bus received a shock of abuse when the bus passed Oxford Circus around 11:33 pm on July 3.

The man is accused of making anti-Semitic comments by abusing his male victim.

Police admitted that despite extensive investigations, no arrests have been made and they have been unable to identify the man from CCTV footage.

Detective Chief Inspector Michael Dougall, a crimes manager for the Metropolitan Police, said: “The Met takes hate crimes extremely seriously.

“Incidents of this nature against any individual or group will not be tolerated and have no place in our city. The victim of this abuse was simply driving home on the bus.

“No one should have to go through that experience and we will act quickly and firmly in response to all reported crimes of this nature.

"Someone must recognize this man, so do the right thing and contact the police."

The shocking incident came to light after images were shared on social media.

Siwan Hayward, Director of Compliance, Police Operations and Security for Transport for London, added: “We are dismayed by the shocking incidents.

“All of our clients have the right to travel without fear of abuse or intimidation, and hate crimes have absolutely no place in our network. We oppose hate crime and are urgently investigating these incidents with the police.

“We urge anyone who experiences or witnesses a hate crime to report it to the police immediately. It's important that people tell us so we can prevent it from happening again. "
