On Saturday, the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts (MVCA) held its opening reception for the Torrent of Flor show, which runs through June 17, 2023.
Eight women have their work on display, and Erica Hoffman had the idea to have her work in the gallery.
She said: โI was looking for some new artists that the Mohawk Valley hadn't really seen yet. Most of the women haven't had their own shows."
Hoffman went on to say that this is the first all-female show they've ever had. โI just wanted to do something fun and light and stretchy, so I came up with the flower theme and told each artist that they could be inspired by a flower.โ
Torrent is an outpouring, and Flor is Latin for flower, so he said, "It's an outpouring of flowers."
