Nifty Pharma outshines broader markets, index hits fresh lifetime high as Q1 earnings take focus; Alkem, Divis Lab hit new 52-week high

The Nifty Pharma Index outperformed the general markets on the last day of this week's trading session as the June 2021 (Q1FY22) quarterly season comes into focus. With the exception of Torrent Pharma, all stocks listed on the index were trading on a bullish note with Alkem Lab and Divis Lab reaching a new all-time high. The Nifty Pharma Index has set a new lifetime high.

Around 12.50 p.m. M., The Nifty Pharma traded at 14,652.35, up 184.90 points or 1.3%. The index has hit a new all-time high of 14,715.15.

Alkem Laboratory and Divis Lab were the main winners, rising nearly 4% and 3.4%, respectively, after hitting a new 52-week high of Rs3,558.90 per piece and Rs4,767.70 per piece in the early offers.

Biocon followed with a 2.4% increase, while Lupine and Aurobindo Pharma expanded by more than 1% each.

Sun Pharma and Cipla were up 0.9% and 0.7% respectively. Cadila Healthcare and Dr. Reddy's Lab took a marginal leap.

Downward, Torrent Pharma it was the only laggard sinking marginally.

Among the shares listed on Nifty Pharma, Torrent Pharma and Sun Pharma are the latest to announce their first quarter results scheduled for July 27-30.
