Nikki Fried political committee now accepts cryptocurrency

A political committee to support the Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki friedThe governor offer is now accepting cryptocurrency donations.

The committee announced the news in a video on social media. In it, Fried attacks banks, in particular Wells Fargo, and relays a list of complaints.

If elected governor, Fried promised to prioritize the "democratization" of the monetary system. The move, he said, would force banks to compete for trust and resources.

Wells Fargo in 2018 shut down Fried's campaign after he announced plans to support the legalization of medical marijuana.

"To show you how serious I am, my political committee, Florida Consumers First, is now accepting cryptocurrencies because I am confident that you will make your own decisions," Fried said. "And I want you to be part of this movement to return power to the people and save our democracy."
