Gujarat is witnessing heavy rains in a dozen districts causing flooding and waterlogging in various parts of the state.

So far, nine people have been killed in rain-related incidents across the state since Wednesday.

Several districts like Junagadh, Amreli and Jamnagar have received rainfall of more than 100mm in the past two days.

The state government has deployed a National Disaster Response Force team to Junagadh in case of flooding in the district.

According to details shared by the State Emergency Operations Center, more than 150 talukas in 20 districts have received torrential rains in South Gujarat, Saurashtra and North Gujarat.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast torrent-risk showers in parts of the state on Saturday as well.

The state government has asked people not to venture near rivers and bodies of water as fresh water has caused flooding in low-lying places.
