Non-stop rain turns peaceful Upstate NY waterfalls into raging torrents (photos, videos)

He apparently endless summer rains They have saturated the ground, caused flash floods and now have transformed the gentle waterfalls of upstate New York into thundering and raging torrents.

Even in the Catskill Mountains, the drama of Kaaterskill Falls has increased a few notches when rainwater gushes over the ledge.

While the rain has created an even bigger spectacle, the rough waters can make activities typically enjoyed this time of year, like walking alongside or swimming in waterfalls, more dangerous.

Weather reports say Upstate New York could rain more tomorrowbut not the torrential downpours it has received in recent weeks.
