Now 10 Teams In IPL? BCCI Floats Tender To Introduce Two More Franchises From Next Season

Prepared to expand the league, the Indian Cricket Control Board (BCCI) has begun the process to introduce two new franchises in the upcoming season of the highly-followed Indian Premier League (IPL). Economic times.

The Governing Council (GC) of IPL yesterday (August 31) invited to tender the franchises through an invitation to tender (ITT). Those interested can purchase the ITT for a non-refundable fee of Rs 10 lakh (plus tax) until October 5.

The base price for new equipment is likely to be set at Rs 1.7 billion or more.

Potential private sector players who can participate in the bidding process include names like Adani Group, Sanjiv Goenka-owned RPSG, major Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company Aurobindo Pharma, Ahmedabad-based Torrent Group and also media veteran and businessman Ronnie Screwvala.

Of these, Goenka had owned the Pune-based franchise, Rising Pune Supergiants for two seasons, 2016 and 2017.

Cities of interest include names such as Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Nagpur, Guwahati, Raipur, Visakhapatnam, and Cuttack.
