Nvidia Hackers Target Samsung, Allegedly Steal 190GB Of Sensitive Data

Nvidia falls first, and next on the chopping block is Samsung.

The same group of hackers who infiltrated nvidia last week and seized a terabyte of data apparently claiming his second victim. A new torrent has surfaced online allegedly containing 190GB of data stolen from Samsung.

bleeding computer (via wccftech) first reported this latest Lapsus hack via an image posted online on March 4 showing C++ code for Samsung's software. Shortly after, Lapsus published a note describing the contents of the leak, which included "Samsung confidential source code" for Qualcomm devices, activation servers, and the technology Samsung uses to authorize and authenticate Samsung accounts. The torrent also included source code for Samsung's Trusted Applets, algorithms for biometric unlock operations, and boot code for recent Samsung devices.

Samsung has acknowledged the hack but has not reported any ransom demands from Lapsus.

The same group of hackers recently compromised Nvidia and stole a terabyte of data. Shortly after the hack was reported, Nvidia's DLSS code leaked onlineand then information on more than 71,000 current and former employees.

Lapsus demands that Nvidia make its graphics processing unit "fully open source". This includes not only Nvidia's drivers, but also its chip architecture and "the best-kept trade secrets for graphics and computer chipsets."

Nvidia has stated that its "business activities continue uninterrupted" and will not give in to Lapsus' demands.
