Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan was released on about 5,500 screens in India and 2,500 screens internationally (in 100 countries). Of the 2,500 screens abroad, the film was shown in 694 theaters in the US.

According to Variety, a US-based media house, the film is breaking box office records in North America; the most notable being that on January 25, the film earned the highest opening-day gross for a Hindi-language production.

Variety further reports that Pathaan earned an estimated $1.86 million on its opening day from 694 locations in North America, which is the best per-theater average for all current releases! If the movie continues to entertain American audiences in the same way, it's poised to debut in third or fourth place, behind Avatar: The Way of Water, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and A Man Called Otto. If we talk about the box office activity of the film to date, the worldwide gross stands at INR 429 Crores.

According to film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film grossed INR 265 crores domestically while INR 164 crores abroad. Day 5 closed at around INR 60-62 crores (initial trends). Pathaan has received a massive response from viewers and the SRK fandom across the globe has warmly welcomed the actor to his film after four years. The film also went to club Rs 100 crore on its opening day. With its opening weekend record, it also created two new achievements: the fastest Hindi film to break the global barrier of Rs 300 crore and the second, the first Hindi film to gross over Rs 300 crore in its first weekend.
